Cookie policy
Last updated: 2 August 2026
The short version
This site uses no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no third-party trackers. Nothing here follows you around the internet.
That is also why you are not being shown a consent banner: under the ePrivacy Directive, storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service the user has explicitly requested does not require consent, and everything below falls into that category.
Local storage (not cookies)
Most of what the calculator remembers is kept in your browser's local storage rather than in cookies, which means it is never sent to a server:
- Your selected country, default hours, hourly rate and tax rate.
- Per-day hours, clock in/out segments and notes.
- A running or paused timer, so it survives a reload.
- Your light/dark theme choice and Pomodoro settings.
- A cached country code from the one-time region lookup.
- Cached public holiday responses, to avoid repeat requests.
You can clear all of it at any time through your browser settings. Doing so removes the data permanently unless you are signed in, in which case a copy exists in your account.
Cookies we do set
Only if you create an account:
- Authentication cookies (set by Supabase) — these keep you signed in between visits and are required for the account to work at all. They expire when the session ends or when you sign out.
If you never sign in, this site sets no cookies whatsoever.
Third parties
Requests to Nager.Date (public holidays) and the region-lookup service expose your IP address to them, as any web request does. Neither sets cookies in your browser through this site. Signing in with Google follows Google's own cookie practices on Google's pages.
If this changes
Should we ever add analytics or anything non-essential, we will ask for consent first through a banner and update this page. Questions: rolopaw@gmail.com.
